Community

A strong relationship with local communities is essential to the successful operation of the Worsley Alumina refinery and mine site.

The company achieves this by:

  • Managing all operations in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Eliminating or minimising any potential adverse impacts on neighbours.
  • Maintaining regular communication with neighbours, communities and local authorities.
  • Providing direct support for a range of community programs and projects.

Worsley has provided financial and practical support for numerous community activities and facilities in areas where employees live. The focus is to generally support sport and recreation, environment, health, arts and culture, education and the general community. Worsley contributes through community and corporate sponsorships or by providing volunteer help and services.
