Dividend Dates
BHP Billiton's dividend declaration dates1 coincide with the announcements of our interim and full year results. The proposed dividend declaration, ex-dividend, record and payment dates are set out below.
In May 2009 the Company announced that shareholders who wish to change the currency in which they receive dividends must lodge an election to do so. This must be received no later than close of business on the Record Date.

3 Any election to change the currency in which the dividend is paid must be received no later than the close of business on this date (note – this has changed from the 2009 Interim Dividend where the currency conversion and currency election dates were two days prior to Dividend Declaration).
BHP Billiton Plc shareholders registered on the South African section of the register will not be able to dematerialise or rematerialise their shareholdings between the dates of 31 August and 4 September 2009, both dates inclusive. Transfers between the UK register and the South African register will not be permitted between the dates of 28 August and 4 September 2009, both dates inclusive.
